Introduction: Sports and physical activities have long been considered as a tool for social change and also a tool for social change and also a tool for “peace and understanding. It is a time of great changes in a person’s life. In order to deal with the stress of development, teenager can either change their behavior in a positive way, a process called “Adjustment” or in a negative way which leads to “Maladaptive behavior”.
Methods: A pre experimental design study was carried out in SDDCN College of Nursing Bharatpur of First year BSc Nursing students who were given a pre-test without a control group using pre-experimental design, with non-probability purposive sampling. Knowledge questionnaire was administered to 60 students. The results were described by using descriptive and inferential statistics.
Results: The study aimed to assess adolescents' knowledge regarding adjustment through sports and physical activities before and after the structured teaching program (STP). Pre-test results indicated a moderate knowledge level, with a mean score of 12.45 (41.5%). Following the STP, post-test results showed significant improvement, with a mean score of 24.89 (83.0%). This highlights the effectiveness of the STP. Additionally, the study explored the association between pre-test knowledge scores and socio-demographic variables, revealing that age, gender, family structure, place of residence, and parental occupation significantly influenced adolescents' knowledge levels before the intervention. These results demonstrate that the STP had a positive impact on the adolescents' knowledge, and socio-demographic factors significantly contributed to the variation in pre-test scores.
Conclusion: The findings of the study showed that there was a deficit in knowledge regarding learning of adjustment through Sports and physical activities. The Structured Teaching Programme was effective in improving the knowledge regarding learning of adjustment through Sports and physical activities.
