abstract
A study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of educational package on paediatric high risk drugs and its dose calculations among nursing staff in selected hospital of New Delhi. The objectives of the study were 1. To assess knowledge of staff nurses regarding paediatric high risk drugs and its dose calculations, 2. To evaluate effectiveness of educational package regarding paediatric high risk drugs and its dose calculations, 3. To provide easy-to-use laminated mini flashcards as learning aids and improve protocol understanding and confidence in clinical practice and promote quick recall on duty. A quantitative pre-experimental approach was adopted with one group pre-test post-test design. 60 samples were selected by using non-probability convenient sampling technique. The data was analyzed and interpreted by using descriptive and inferential statistics. The effectiveness of educational package on paediatric high risk drugs and its dose calculation was assessed by using paired ‘t’ test score. The results showed that educational package on high risk drugs and its dose calculations was significantly effective.
